I’m Jesse, a photographer, artist, and lifelong animal lover based in Alajuela, Costa Rica, where I share my home with my two rescue cats, Cashew and Kaya, and my favorite tica and partner, adriana.

Before picking up a camera, I spent a decade performing stand-up comedy, honing my ability to observe the world from a unique perspective. I also write, draw cartoons, and work with animal rescue groups and sanctuaries, blending my passion for storytelling and wildlife into everything I create.

Originally from Connecticut, USA, I’ve lived in different corners of the country, each experience shaping my artistic style. My photographic journey has taken me through national parks across the U.S., from the towering hoodoos of Utah to baby alligators in the Everglades, to the sound of elk clashing in the Rockies during breeding season. Now, I have the privilege of capturing the rich wildlife and landscapes of Costa Rica, a place that speaks to my soul.

As a wildlife and nature photographer first, I bring an artist’s eye and a deep appreciation for the natural essence of animals into my pet photography. My approach is about storytelling through images, capturing personality and emotion rather than relying on stiff poses or props. The same patience required to photograph a majestic egret in flight is what allows me to capture the perfect, fleeting expression that makes each pet unique.

For me, photography isn’t just about taking pictures—it’s about creating art that lasts, whether it’s a moment that lives on your wall, in a frame, or simply in your heart.
